We at the Parish Council take the safety of our Parishioners very seriously. That’s why we have implemented the Speed Awareness Monitoring (SAM) scheme-like the one pictured above-throughout the village.
The portable unit will be deployed at varying sites along the main A149 as agreed with the Highways Agency where it will remind drivers of the speed limits imposed at any given site.
Data will be collected from the units and analysed to determine levels of vehicle speed and volume through the village. Any patterns or trends of concern can then be passed on to the appropriate enforcement agencies.
